The story behind the gin:
The first time we spoke about making this gin, Sarah was between expeditions.
There’s a particular kind of stillness that follows extreme environments. After weeks of wind, snow, salt water and effort, normal life feels almost unreal. The body is back, but part of the mind is still somewhere high and exposed.
She described the crossing from Greenland to Iceland: long hours of cold water, the horizon unbroken, every movement deliberate. Later came journeys to the mountains: ridgelines where conversation thins out, where breathing becomes rhythm, where the world narrows to ice, rock and sky.
What stayed with us wasn’t the scale of it. It was the restraint.
Expeditions aren’t about adrenaline. They’re about discipline. Pushing when you want to stop. Trusting in your preparation.
We wanted to capture that feeling rather than the spectacle.
Pine for the air at altitude: sharp, clean, unmistakable. Citrus for the brightness that cuts through cold light. Caraway for the grounded warmth that carries you through long effort.
Wildfire Ascent isn’t a celebration of summits.
It’s a reflection of the mindset that gets you there, and brings you back.
